Previous Campaigns

The following are campaigns that have been concluded or that WaSP has handed off to others to run.

The Browser Upgrade Campaign ran from 2001 until Spring of 2003. You may have been directed to, or directed your users to, our Upgrade Page.

The DOM Scripting Task Force was an outreach effort to educate developers from all backgrounds about Document Object Model Application Programming Interfaces, especially those centered on client-side JavaScript. This task force operated from mid-2005 to early 2008.

The Adobe Task Force (formerly Dreamweaver Task Force) worked with Adobe and, prior to their acquisition, Macromedia to improve the standards compliance and accessibility of web pages produced with Adobe Dreamweaver. This task force operated until Fall 2009, when it was folded in to the Industry Evangelists Project Team.

The Accessibility Task Force worked with accessibility organizations, technology vendors and others to help promote Web accessibility. This task force operated until Fall 2009, when it was folded in to the Industry Evangelists Project Team.

The WaSP / Microsoft Task Force was formed in July of 2005 to support Microsoft as the company began increasing Web standards support in its browser and web authoring products. This task force operated until Fall 2009, when it was folded in to the Industry Evangelists Project Team.

The WaSP Street Team ran community projects to get the message about Web standards out everywhere.

The Web Standards Project is a grassroots coalition fighting for standards which ensure simple, affordable access to web technologies for all.
